As we pass the midpoint of 2025, Xian Network – a new Layer-1 blockchain where smart contracts are written in native Python – has marked a transformative start to the year. From the launch of its mainnet and first dApps to exchange listings and cross-chain bridges, Xian’s journey so far paints the picture of a young ecosystem steadily gaining momentum.
This recap covers the key developments of 2025 year-to-date, touching on technology upgrades, partnerships and funding, regulatory context, community growth, and network milestones.
A New Blockchain Goes Live
Xian began 2025 by completing its transition from testnet to mainnet, a pivotal milestone that opened the network to real users and applications. The mainnet officially went live in late January 2025, marking Xian’s graduation from its testing phase to full production.
This launch solidified Xian’s core proposition: a developer-friendly blockchain using Python, one of the world’s most popular programming languages, for smart contracts. By leveraging Python, Xian dramatically lowers the entry barrier for new Web3 developers, allowing millions of existing Python developers to build blockchain apps without learning a new language.
Under the Hood – Efficiency and Security
Technically, Xian’s infrastructure in 2025 emphasized efficiency and modern cryptography. The network uses a Tendermint/CometBFT-style delegated proof-of-stake consensus (skipping energy-intensive mining) to achieve instant finality on transactions.
In practice, Xian can process hundreds of transactions per second with low, predictable fees – a crucial feature as it aims to support real-world decentralized applications. The development team also baked in advanced features like enhanced cryptographic libraries to future-proof the platform.
Notably, Xian implemented support for modern token standards such as permit signatures and streaming payments, enabling gasless token approvals and native subscription/recurring payment functionality on-chain. These upgrades, alongside rigorous security testing, have positioned Xian as a technologically cutting-edge chain by 2025.
Cross-Chain Integration with Solana
A major focus in 2025 has been extending Xian’s reach through cross-chain bridges. In the spring, the project announced the XIAN–Solana bridge is live, initially supporting seamless transfers of USDC stablecoins between Solana’s network and Xian.
By June, the bridge also allowed moving native XIAN tokens between the two chains. This integration with Solana opens Xian to a broader liquidity universe, letting users bring assets over from a top blockchain and potentially tap into Solana’s DeFi ecosystem.
Bridging was made user-friendly via a simple web interface: 👉 bridge.xian.org, even offering small incentives for first-time cross-chain users. The bridge launch not only showcased Xian’s interoperability ambitions, but also underscored its focus on practical use cases like transferring stablecoins for use in Xian’s emerging DeFi.
Launch of a Native DEX and Liquidity Farming
Hand-in-hand with the bridge, Xian saw the debut of its first decentralized exchange (DEX) on the network. Branded SNAKexchange, this on-chain DEX launched with a XIAN/USDC trading pair and liquidity pools denominated in the native XIAN token.
To bootstrap activity, the team rolled out “massive early bird rewards” for liquidity farmers on SNAKexchange. Yield farming APRs above 400% were advertised to attract liquidity and jump-start trading on the platform.
The strategy has had early success in drawing in community funds; while total value locked remains modest in absolute terms (as expected for a young network), the availability of a native DEX is a key milestone. It enables users to swap assets and provide liquidity directly on Xian’s Layer-1, creating the foundation for a homegrown DeFi ecosystem.
New dApps and Services
Beyond the DEX, several inaugural dApps have gone live on Xian in 2025, signaling growing developer engagement.
One highlight is the Xian Name Service (XNS) – a decentralized naming system for wallet addresses. Much like Ethereum’s ENS, XNS allows users to register human-readable names for their Xian addresses, improving usability.
Another creative project is PixelSnek, an on-chain NFT pixel art and animation platform that showcases the network’s capability to handle creative NFTs via Python contracts.
These early applications demonstrate the versatility of Xian’s Python smart contracts, ranging from DeFi to NFTs. The Xian team has actively encouraged such projects through hackathons, bounties, and a token launch contest. In fact, they introduced a “launch your own token” program with built-in templates and offered bounty rewards to builders who deploy innovative dApps.
The result has been a growing catalog of community-created tokens and applications, small but steadily expanding – an important indicator of ecosystem health.
Growing Market Access – Raydium and Perpetuals
Xian didn’t stop at one exchange. By mid-year, the project achieved a unique integration with Solana’s Raydium DEX, enabled by the aforementioned bridge.
A wrapped XIAN token was introduced on Solana, and a XIAN/SOL trading pair became available on Raydium, giving Xian an avenue into the wider DeFi market on Solana. This cross-chain liquidity has been small but symbolically important – it signals Xian’s intent to exist as part of a multi-chain landscape rather than a siloed network.
In addition, the team looked toward more advanced trading products: in July 2025, Xian announced a partnership with Vibe Trading, a forthcoming decentralized derivatives platform. Xian is slated to be a launch partner with Vibe, meaning traders will soon be able to trade XIAN perpetual futures with leverage once Vibe’s platform goes live.
This move into derivative markets, alongside the spot listings, shows Xian’s drive to increase its token’s presence and utility across different trading venues.
Partnerships and Collaborations
On the strategic partnership front, Xian Network struck a notable collaboration with a Web3 marketing firm in early 2025 to amplify its outreach.
In a February announcement, Generis, a blockchain marketing agency, revealed its partnership with Xian to help grow the ecosystem’s brand and developer community. The choice to emphasize Python accessibility in messaging (e.g. “Web3 accessible to millions of Python developers”) and Xian’s energy-efficient design was a direct outcome of these branding efforts.
While not a technical alliance, this partnership underscored Xian’s commitment to education and community-building – crucial for a nascent project carving out a niche.
Overall, 2025 has seen Xian actively form relationships that either expand its technological capabilities or grow its user base, from exchange platforms to marketing collaborators.
Developer and User Uptake
From a community standpoint, Xian started the year with a small but passionate following that has grown steadily alongside its technical milestones.
The project’s official Reddit community, for example, crossed a few hundred subscribers in early 2025 – a humble figure, but one that the team celebrated as a sign of grassroots enthusiasm. On Discord and Telegram, developer chat groups have similarly expanded as more programmers experiment with Xian’s Python smart contracts.
One of Xian’s core selling points is that developers earn 68% of all transaction fees their apps generate – a strong incentive drawing in builders.
User Adoption and Milestones
In terms of on-chain activity, Xian’s metrics reflect an ecosystem in its early stages – growing, though not yet at mass adoption.
Out of the total supply of ~111 million coins, around 16–17 million XIAN are in circulating supply (from the IEO and early contributor distributions). The rest is allocated to future incentives, staking rewards, and ecosystem grants.
Total Value Locked and Economic Activity
Xian’s TVL in decentralized applications is still small — tens of thousands of dollars — which is natural for a network in its bootstrapping phase.
Most of this value sits in the SNAKexchange DEX and its liquidity farming pools, particularly XIAN/USDC and several early community tokens.
The network’s economic design includes a deflationary element — a small portion of transaction fees is burned, and with growing usage, this could lead to a significant token burn rate over time.
As of mid-2025, the XIAN token’s market capitalization floats around the low six-figure range, highlighting both the early stage of the project and the long-term upside if growth continues.
In summary, the first half of 2025 has been a foundational period for Xian Network, marked by consistent progress across all fronts.
Technologically, Xian delivered on its promises — launching a robust Python blockchain with modern features, and proving that it can run securely and efficiently at scale. The introduction of on-chain governance and developer incentives shows commitment to decentralization and community-led growth.
Within just a few months of launch, Xian now boasts a working DEX, a live cross-chain bridge, and an expanding portfolio of native dApps — a remarkable achievement at this stage. Importantly, Xian has also begun integrating into the broader crypto landscape by raising funds, listing tokens, and forming cross-network collaborations.
Looking ahead, the challenge is to turn this early momentum into sustainable growth. Key questions include:
The broader market environment looks promising, with clearer regulations and rising interest in Layer-1 chains that bring something new.
Xian’s bet is simple and bold: that the power and accessibility of Python, paired with a thoughtfully engineered blockchain, will continue to attract innovators and builders.
If it keeps shipping, partnering, and engaging its community, Xian Network could emerge as a serious contender in the Layer-1 space.
